BURKINA FASO: 11-year prison sentence for « Pastor Guillaume »

Justice. Accused of rape and fraud, Ibrahima Moumouni—founder of the « Tabernacle of the Sons of the Kingdom of Heaven » church—has received a heavy sentence in Ouagadougou. The Criminal Chamber of the Ouaga II High Court handed down a sentence of 11 years in prison and a fine of one million CFA francs to Ibrahima Moumouni, better known as « Pastor Guillaume » or « the Patriarch. »

The clergyman was found guilty of a series of particularly serious offenses, including aggravated rape, attempted aggravated rape, sexual harassment, making threats, fraud, and abuse of vulnerability.

In addition to the prison term and fine, the court ordered his permanent banishment from Burkinabe territory upon completion of his sentence. Regarding civil liability, the convicted man must pay a total of 21 million CFA francs in damages to two of his victims as compensation for the harm suffered.
