UNIVERSITY DINING IN BENIN: Changes coming for the new academic year
The Beninese government is launching a major overhaul of university dining facilities for the 2026–2027 academic year. Approved by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, September 2, this initiative aims to provide higher-quality meals at affordable prices.
Dining facilities at the Dangbo, Lokossa, and Parakou campuses will undergo comprehensive renovations before classes resume.
Management entrusted to professionals
To ensure service quality, the State will outsource the operation of these facilities to private-sector specialists, while retaining a role in oversight and price control.
To meet growing demand, dining capacity will be expanded through the construction of two new university dining halls at the Abomey-Calavi and Kétou campuses.
