CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE IN MONNON: The NGO APID Unites the Village for Peace
A major awareness session was held this Monday, September 27, 2026, in Parakou. Elders, youth, women, and community leaders gathered in Monnon’s public square around the slogan: « Together for peace in Monnon, peace is built with us! ». Organized by the NGO APID (Aide Pour un Impact Durable / Help for Sustainable Impact), this gathering aimed to strengthen community living and collective action at the local level.
Under the theme « How to build lasting cohesion and act together for our community? », speakers recalled that peace relies on tolerance, dialogue, and mutual respect. Every resident was invited to make a concrete commitment to preventing tensions and strengthening solidarity in their neighborhood.
The initiative generated strong enthusiasm. Participants shared their proposals to preserve local harmony, reflecting a shared desire to make Monnon an example of social cohesion and civic responsibility.
