A new milestone has been reached in the digital transformation of the Beninese state. Driven by the government, the online issuance of judicial documents is becoming a reality, marking a decisive step in the modernization of public services.

This is a small revolution for the daily lives of citizens. Beninese citizens can now request and obtain several major official documents, such as criminal records or certificates of nationality, directly online.

This digitization puts an end to long, drawn-out queues and costly trips to courts and town halls. The procedure, now entirely decentralized and accessible from a smartphone or computer, is designed to be faster, simpler, and significantly less cumbersome.

Beyond saving taxpayers time and money, this major reform aims to thoroughly streamline the administrative system. By eliminating intermediaries and the need for physical travel, the government is directly targeting bureaucratic delays and the risk of extortion. The stated objective is clear: to establish complete transparency and sustainably restore trust between judicial institutions and citizens.

This initiative is perfectly aligned with the structural reforms championed by President Patrice Talon, who has made digital transformation the cornerstone of state modernization. By translating this vision into the justice sector, the executive branch, supported by the budgetary discipline of Minister of State Romuald Wadagni, is giving a decisive boost to the national digital transformation.

The citizen at the heart of governance

For the authorities, a modern state cannot be conceived without an inclusive administration accessible to all, regardless of the user’s geographical location. By simplifying access to these essential administrative documents, the executive branch reaffirms its commitment to placing citizens at the heart of public policy and anchoring Benin in the era of e-governance.

This progress has generated genuine hope among the population. It embodies the ambition of an efficient, transparent, and accessible public service, proving once again that Benin is pursuing its development path through innovation and good governance.
