Just a few months after his inauguration, President Romuald Wadagni has launched a major restructuring of the Beninese administration. At the heart of this reform is the elimination of several strategic agencies inherited from the administration of his predecessor, Patrice Talon.

With the aim of centralizing expertise, strengthening the cohesion of public policies, and optimizing government action, the Head of State has chosen to streamline the administrative apparatus. This decision directly targets several key structures in the cultural and tourism sectors, including:

ADAC: The Agency for the Development of Arts and Culture;

ANDT: The National Agency for Tourism Development;

ANPT: The National Agency for the Promotion of Heritage and Tourism Development.

These entities previously bore the heavy responsibility of ensuring the operational management of Benin’s cultural and tourism influence.

According to the authorities, this reorganization primarily aims for better management of public funds by eliminating overlapping responsibilities between the various agencies. This strategic shift marks a major turning point in the governance of the new administration.

While the political will is clearly stated, the concrete implementation of this transition remains to be refined. For the time being, the government has not yet provided details regarding the fate and redeployment of staff from these dissolved agencies.

Through these decisive measures, the new executive branch is demonstrating its determination to build a more agile and efficient administration, capable of concretely meeting the high expectations of the population during this term.
