A dark cloud has fallen over the Republican Police of Benin. Police Commissioner 2nd Class M’Bao Dangou Dénis, former Deputy Commissioner at the Kolokondé District Police Station, passed away on the night of Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Parakou Departmental Hospital Center (CHD).

According to testimonies from his fellow graduates, the officer succumbed around 11:00 p.m. following a sudden illness.

This loss plunges the CEPACO graduating class into deep sorrow, occurring less than 24 hours after the death of Commissioner Kintin Urbain, also a member of the same group.

In the space of a single day, the graduating class has thus lost two of its leading figures. One of their comrades-in-arms paid tribute to the memory of: « Two devoted servants of the nation, taken from us far too soon. »

In these bittersweet hours, our thoughts are with their families, loved ones, and all members of the Republican Police. May their souls rest in peace.
