The AG CINÉ CENTER professional training center celebrated the graduation of a group of its students this Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Parakou. Four students officially received their diplomas in the presence of their parents, instructors, and prominent figures from the Beninese press.

This marks a significant step into the professional world for the four AG CINÉ CENTER graduates. Surrounded by their families and mentors, these new media and communication specialists were honored at an official ceremony marking the culmination of several months of hard work and practical training.

Opening the series of speeches, the center’s Director General, Yaovi Angélo Houndjo, warmly congratulated the graduates for their discipline, creativity, and perseverance. “Today, we are gathered to celebrate the culmination of an intense, demanding, and enriching journey. We honor four of our students who have demonstrated discipline, creativity, and passion in mastering the skills needed for careers in media and communication,” he said with satisfaction. He also expressed his gratitude to the families for their trust, before urging the graduating class to embody rigor and ethics in their professional lives.

During the event, Théodora Jimaja presented the vision of this institution based in Parakou. AG CINÉ CENTER is establishing itself as a leading center dedicated to building the capacity of audiovisual enthusiasts. Its diverse academic offerings cover audiovisual techniques (framing, editing, photography), modern journalism (ethics, fact-checking, integration of artificial intelligence), and communication (public speaking, diction).

As concrete proof of this acquired expertise, the public was treated to a screening of a documentary about the Kingdom of Ouessè Wogoudo, entirely produced by the recipients. This screening sparked a lively and interactive discussion, rich in advice and constructive criticism from the audience, to guide the young filmmakers’ first steps.

The highlight of the day was the presentation of certificates. Speaking on behalf of her peers, student representative Rebeca Gounou paid a heartfelt tribute to the instructors and the Director General’s managerial vision. « This certificate we receive today is not just an official document; it symbolizes a commitment to uphold the values of visual journalism and to use the camera and editing as instruments of truth, memory, and education, » she declared, her voice filled with emotion.

The ceremony was further enhanced by the presence of distinguished sponsors. Albérique Houndjo, President of the Association of Journalists Working in Northern Benin and Regional Director of the Matin Libre press group, reminded the graduates that the diploma is only the beginning of continuous learning: « Your creativity should allow you to reveal yourselves to the public, and that is how you will be sought after, » he advised. Following him, Germain Aloze, Honorary Director of Publication of the newspaper L’Étudiant Noir, commended the tenacity of the four graduates who, unlike others, persevered to the end of the program. He encouraged them to remain humble and to regularly seek guidance from their elders.

The ceremony concluded with words of thanks from the Director General to the partners and the families, before giving way to a photo session to commemorate this new chapter opening for the media in Benin.
